February 20th, 2008....The Poet went East in search of new art, inspiration
and good sea food and found all three in Coastal Maine. Thanks
to artist Donna Oehmig for her hospitality and wonderful library.
As soon as the scans are done, I'll post a few for the greater
amusement and approval of the Rubber Poet family of stampers.
Given the "democratic" season of elections, The Poet
is a firm believer in letting the latex-buying public have their
say. I always appreciate feedback on potential designs, and this
collection will be no exception. Check back for the samples soon.

Here's how it was done in her own words: "It was stamped on untreated dominoes with black staz-on ink and then colored with the new Copic Markers and black Sharpie all around the edges. I used Soft flex beading wire, 3 different designs of silver metal spacers between the dominoes and 2 red Swarovski crystals on each end and a larger semi-precious stone before the toggle clasp." Nice work, gal!

May we all strive to improve our penmanship and add both clarity and beauty to our world.
October 27th, 2005.... The Poet extends his deepest sympathy to all who have suffered in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita & now Wilma. Hopefully this storm season is over! For any teachers that have losses as a result of these storms, the poet will offer free unmounted blem dies as a meager attempt to rebuild an art curriculum. July 12th, 2005.... Calling all Pig & Poet mail artists. Holly Johnson needs your help. This postmistress is hoping to convince her local neighbors about poet mail art, to wit, "About the mail call, I thought maybe if you added something calling for pigs and poet mail art to be displayed at Artist's Studio Tour, 306 Park Row, Chestertown MD 21620 we might get a response. June 7th, 2005.... A tip of the hat to mail artist Barbara Gibbons for her very fun rendition of the mini petroglyphs on a card made while she was traveling and only had "a limited supply of her stampin stuff." That's what I call a well equipped 5th wheel. What a gal! Always happy to receive and post really "poetic" mail art. Makes my day when I see it at the post office box, not to mention the sensation it stirs for the local postmistress.
May 9th, 2005.... The Poet's have a better idea. Instead of shows or prizes, we'll give away instant fame. Any artist that gets Poet exclusive art published in a stamping or craft magazine can be featured in the respective gallery on the Poet web site and get mention in the news column, I know that it ain't much, but given a bit of persistence and nagging, you might even get a few free dies, too, Such a deal! Hat's off to Vickie Kammerer for her very sharp Hoop Woman medallion that was recently seen in Stamper's Sampler. Now, Let's see what the rest of the worldwide poets can do? Have at it, kiddos!
May 2nd, 2005... Given the underwhelming response to the petroglyph show, the poet regrets to announce that he WILL NOT be attending the ARARA show in Sparks, Nevada. My apologies to any poet fans that are disappointed, but none are more chagrined than this poet having to spend Memorial Day weekend in Zion Canyon with the teeming throngs of pre-summer tourists. Take a look at the Mini-Petro Color Art Gallery and be prepared to get "dominated" in a poetic sense. Those glyphs are so vintage that they are "prehistoric!"
August 26th, 2004... In an season of ever sinking morality and taste, the poets are way in front of the curve. In response to popular demand, I am including a selection of Classic Yes! Pigs can Fly designs within the existing Yes! Pigs Gallery. In a nod to propriety, I will post it on the very bottom of the page. So, if you are offended by squished road kill, a tattooed baby, a penis or the teddy bear abuse duo, please refrain from scrolling to the bottom of that gallery. A few explanatory words are in order. Cavenewt, the original owner of Pigs rode a BMW motorcycle and saw a lot of road kill. So, she & her fellow artists decided to depict them and got a bit carried away with Elvis, elephants and the penguin. She also mentioned that squirrels are the ultimate scavenger and will eat anything! The no dickheads is self explanatory, though no subject has been identified for attribution. The tattooed baby was from a photo she perused at her work, and the teddy abuse series was drawn before she experienced motherhood, I promise!

Special thanks to Gisela, Chi & Gerti for heads up poet watching, too!
December 24th, 2003... So, in lieu of the phones, faxes or snail mail, there is yet another way to stay in touch. After much dragging of feet and denial of the computer-savvy reality of the web-based world,( or lack of IT, in the case of the poet) I have relented and added a mailing list feature onto the home page. By enrolling through the technological marvels of this doodad, I hope to be better able to keep poets updated as to the art and crafts of the poet works. I have been assured that notify list is trustworthy. Time will tell.

I listened to stampers and store owners requests for designs. To help me tailor the designs, I welcome past and present poet fan's request, too. So, send/email me your thoughts & stay tuned for there release next year.
November 21st, 2003... Now that the Poet has re-established the shop and put the garden to rest, it is time to take a road trip. So, for all you last minute seasonal shoppers, here's the scoop. to persevere and pray for the poet's safe transit from the South
to the Southwest.
For future orders, the
new address is the prior, old address, to wit:
July 28th, 2003... After much repeated requests, we have managed to get the Rubber Poet Repeatable Fabric Designs online. June 22nd, 2003... Well, there are a lot of Myths in the world today. But the ones that the poets believe are time proven and worthy of repetition. April 9th, 2003...The Poets are saddened to learn of the passing of Victoria Lee. Whereas her last few years had evidenced declining health, her artistic capacity and sheer joy of creation kept her spirits ever buoyant. When we requested her talents in 2000 to detail the Bakst collection, she insisted on completely redrawing them to make the figures "properly detailed." A lover of cats, with a largesse of heart, she will be deeply missed by all. Her art will live on in a variety of mediums.
March 16th, 2003... As the world marches into war, an unlikely heroine has emerged - Lysistrata. Veteran Pigs fans will notice the absence of a few designs, but hopefully the reorganized layout will help you rediscover a few classics that you may have overlooked. Also, the Left Bank Rubber Poet collection and a brand new 30-letter art deco alphabet represent the beginning of the collaborative collection. So, long live the Pigs and Poets! Catalog still only $3.00, refundable with your first order. Catalogs are included free if you order mounted stamps. Order your catalog here.
Announcing a new gallery room: The Katy Widger Elemental One Stamp Project. We also added one new piece of art to the Petroglyphs Color Art room. Scroll down to the bottom to see the contribution of Estrella Bianchi.
August 9, 1999....Get ready for a real original from Southern Arizona. He edits a local newspaper, draws intricate designs and has a wonderful website to prove it. Meet Hop David, the latest in the Rubber Poet collection of tessellating artists. Hop's debut collection features 6 interlocking patterns that create wonderful mosaic backgrounds that prove that the whole is more than the sum of the parts. His designs are offered as both large and small versions exclusively on acrylic handles to achieve the precision alignment for seamless repetitions. Coming soon, the new Hop David room in the Rubber Poet's Gallery.
July 28, 1999....The Elemental Black & White Flyer and the Elemental Color Art galleries have been added. The Katy Widger Elemental collection represents eight of her newest Fabric Designs. These Ogees (a new design for maximum tessellation) have the added benefit of tessellating either in parallel or at 90 degrees to each other, and come in small and large sizes. The "ornamental" shape of these designs is yet another creative use. You just gotta play with these to recognize the design potential. The color art has been submitted by a gifted pair: Lea Everse and Carole Heppner.
And here's some Fine Print: shipping charges are going up slightly, due to recent increases by the Postal Service. We do our darndest to hold the line on prices but sometimes we just can't put it off any longer!
June 17, 1999....The Left Bank Complete Black & White Flyer and the Left Bank Color Art galleries are up and running. Read all about'em in the June 14, 1999 item below. The vulcanizer is burning the midnight oil these days. There's been an email uproar to get these images online, and we're more than happy to oblige.
June 14, 1999....New art has been added to the Katy Widger Repeatable Rubber gallery. Scroll down to the last 5 images for loads-o-lizards and other fun stuff.
At last, the long awaited and much rumored Left Bank Collection makes its gala debut. This collection features 18 new designs from the glamorous world of French costumers. Most of these designs were actually made and worn by wealthy patrons of pre-WWI Europe. They are tres chic, and just in time to help add a little haute couture to your ho-hum stamping life. As you will see, the artistry of Michele De Mayo, Lea Everse and Carol Heppner have breathed even more glamour into these gals.
May 4, 1999....At long last, the ancient rock art designs have finally been given a full color display in their very own gallery. All of our glyphs are accurate representations of rock art found in the American desert southwest. We have gathered over 110 of them in 11 pages of our Rubber Poet catalog. That makes them much easier to find than traipsing all over the desert yourself! We strive for authenticity as well as anonynmity; we have renamed them to disguise their locations. Now, you can recreate them in much less time than their creators took! That's a fair tradeoff, no?
March 21, 1999....If you looked at the new Myths Color Art Gallery before today, check it again. Today we more than doubled the number of pieces with art by Victoria Lee and Lea Everse, whose samples join those of Michele DeMayo.
March 8, 1999....We continue the trend of adding complete flyers to our gallery (in glorious and accurate black & white) with the completion of the Myths of the World flyer, accompanied by a sampling of art pieces in full color in the Myths Color Art gallery.
February 9, 1999....Now see all of the Spellbound collection in detailed black & white as we embark upon the great catalog quest. Steadfastly and beautifully, we will get our newest designs online with selective crosslinking to full-color art samples. This will make ordering a snap (well, more of a snap!) and let you preview our latest flyers in advance of your catalog receipt.
December 7, 1998....We've added another Gallery room! Check out Room 9, The Collage Artistry of Karen Masada. Karen and her collages have been published all over the place. We are proud to have her here.
November 21, 1998....The Charles Cullen Lost Horizon Fantasies are now online in full-sized, glorious color. These images represent some of the finest art from the Harlem Renaissance and can make a dramatic card using just one stamp. Those who have mastered the brayer and have a black ink pad can produce some real show-stopping art. Although these images are in the centerfold in our fourth edition Rubber Poet catalog, they are shown there at reduced size due to size constraints and just don't have the visual impact as when depicted full size and in color.
September 22, 1998....There's a new gallery. Check out Spellbound. We are also featuring a new Mail Art Contest winner on our home page.
August 24, 1998....Rubber Poet has just released the Spellbound Collection, a series of 25 captivating graphics featuring women, faeries, butterflies and griffins. The Spellbound flyer is included with each Rubber Poet catalog, or can be obtained by sending a 60-cent SASE. A new gallery of Spellbinding designs will soon be online--keep your eyes (and your browser) peeled for the announcement.
August 19, 1998....The weight is on! It's a grab bag special. The combo grab bag (with designs from both Rubber Poet and YES! Pigs Can Fly) just got better. We decided to treat both companies equally and literally "weight" both companies' images in grab bags with equal values. In short, we will now measure our grab bags by weight rather than by dollar amount or mere numerical count. So, instead of at least 8 dies, we will now be giving out 8 ounces of unmounted dies (that's right, a half-pound of first-quality dies without duplication) with each grab bag/both catalogs combo. The price is just $18.00, sent Priority Mail, no less! Jeesh, this is an incredible deal! Avail yourself of a swell way to sample the quality and quantity of the generous Poets.
Alas, we cannot sell multiple grab bags to one person, as the weight restrictions of the mailers prevents this. Imagine mailing multiple pounds of dies in a paper catalog envelope: the U.S. Postal Service might think we were trying to sabotage their high-speed sorting machines if one of these puppies blows out in the middle of sorting!
July 27, 1998....Gallery Room 2 has been revamped to show off Katy Widger's Repeatable Rubber designs. Repeatable Rubber stamps are available on clear acrylic handles, the better to position them accurately. Katy's designs and more Poet stamps are now featured in the summer '98 American Quilters Journal.
May 26, 1998....Check out the Fabian gallery room! It's newly enlarged so now you can see 8 of the 12 fantasies from the lore of yesteryear's science fiction classics, with very Fabianesque features. All mounted stamps come with glossy black labels on lavishly sanded 3/4" hourglass maple handles and print beautifully. A brayer and a multi-color rainbow pad, or an airbrush or color pencils make these instand cards stand out from the crowd!
March 11, 1998....There is a new Gallery room showing off the Hand Carved Prehistoric Beasts of Dale DeArmond. Individual stamps of dinosaurs, mammoths, and long-gone creepy-crawlies in small and large sizes. Plus an entire alphabet of 26 stamps with Magic Cling and an acrylic handle for only $16.95 including postage (recently reduced from $19.95). Don't miss it!
Don't forget, any time you see something in our Gallery that you want to order, you can do it in the Comments field of the order form. Or call or fax with a credit card, or snail mail your order with a check or money order. Don't hesitate to email us if you have questions.
February 11, 1998.....The Rubber Poet has just released the Millennium Collection flyer. There are 25 luscious, exotic designs. Free with a SASE (here's our address), or if you're ordering a catalog, be sure to ask to have the flyer included. See samples from the flyer (don't hesitate because of file size--we made'em so they load fast). Get catalogs and order stamps on our Order Form.
We've added a Links page. Addition of our favorite rubber stamp sites will be an ongoing process currently frozen until the raging debate over links is resolved between Cavenewt and the Poets.
January 21, 1998.....Those acrylic handles are undergoing more improvements! Now they're easier to grip and have a smoother finish, along with a better-quality gray foam cushion to use with them. All in all, the Clearly Repeatable option is getting better! We will be phasing in the new handle design as prior stock is depleted. No change in cost. See Accessories page for details.
October 17, 1997.....We've added some supplies to the stuff for sale. See the new Accessories page for details. The items have also been added to the Order Form. For more information about supplies, email the Poet. The new stuff includes Superstick(tm) cushion, Magic Cling(tm) static cling vinyl backing and acrylic handles.
Our latest Rubber Poet flyer features 18 fabric designs by Katy Widger and is titled the Katy Widger Leaf Collection (for fabric and design). These are available on acrylic handles, with red rubber mounted on grey foam and black permanent indexing in large and small sizes. Very pretty, and very functional for accurate placement. Send a 57-cent SASE and ask for this flyer. Or if you order the Poet catalog, it's included automatically. Our address is at the bottom of this page.
..........................
October 1, 1997.....The Rubber Poet finally arrived on the Information Highway. His email address is rubrpoet@infowest.com.
YES! Pigs Can Fly had discontinued several dozen images a couple of years ago. We are happy to announce that these images have been reintroduced. If you have an older catalog, it's the art by PM. A new flyer of these designs is available. Send a 57-cent SASE and ask for the PM flyer. Or if you're ordering the Pigs catalog, it's included automatically. Our address is at the bottom of this page.

Spring 1997.....YES! Pigs Can Fly was acquired by The Rubber Poet of Rockville, Utah. Well, maybe acquired isn't exactly the right word. Cave Newt (the sole proprietor and worker-bee of Pigs) had a baby around Ground Hog Day 1997 and found it was impossible to keep up with all the work, so she twisted the Rubber Poet's arm to adopt Pigs (she knew the Poet folks would take proper care of Pigs.)
So you have two companies' worth of stamps on one web page. The mailing address and phone/fax numbers have been changed to protect the innocent, but the web page will stay right here. As of this writing, the Poet just got his email address: rubrpoet@infowest.com. If you've emailed or snail mailed anything to the old address, don't worry--it will be promptly forwarded.
When ordering a catalog, please include payment along with your address written legibly and please send to:
